Speakers

David Kading, OD, FAAO, FCLSA

David Kading, OD, FAAO, FCLSA is a recognized leader in optometry, known for his expertise in Myopia Management, Specialty Contact Lenses, and Dry Eye Disease. In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and the Contact Lens Society of America (FCLSA), he also completed a residency in Cornea & Contact Lenses. Dr. Kading has dedicated his career to advancing patient care, research, and education in these specialties.

Although he loves patient care, he splits his time between teaching, consulting, research, and mentoring to help shape the next generation of optometrists. He leads the Student Workshop of the Ocular Surface in optometry schools nationwide and founded The Myopia Workshop, helping doctors elevate their approach to myopia management.

As the host of The Myopia Podcast and co-host of The OI Show, Dr. Kading shares valuable insights with eye care professionals worldwide, helping them stay at the forefront of innovation in myopia control, specialty lenses, dry eye, and ocular disease management. His passion for education has led him to lecture in over 40 U.S. states and internationally throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Kading enjoys woodworking, shooting, and camping with his wife, Dr. Kristi Kading, OD, FAAO, FCOVD, and their three daughters.

Roya Attar, OD, DHA, MBA, FAAO, FORS

Roya Attar serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Optometric Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. As the sole optometrist at the state's only medical school, she strives to make a meaningful impact on patient care, education, and leadership. Beyond her primary responsibilities, Roya is deeply committed to providing comprehensive clinical care, sharing knowledge with residents, and ensuring the smooth operation of optical services. With dual Doctorates in Optometry and Health Administration, complemented by a Master's in Business Administration, she actively pursues ongoing growth and development in her role.

A distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Roya assumes pivotal roles, including chairing the AAO Retina Special Interest Group and serving on the AOA Paraoptometric Resource Committee. In addition, she is president of her local society, where she contributes to discussions on best practices and professional development. Though grateful for recognition and numerous accolades, including awards like Mississippi Young OD of the Year, SECO Young OD of the Year, AOA Young OD of the Year, and Women in Optometry Young OD of the Year, she remains focused on serving others and committed to advancing the optometric profession.
