Speakers

Chris Wroten, OD
Chris Wroten, O.D., received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, before graduating from Chris WrotenSouthern College of Optometry and completing a Residency in Hospital-based Primary Eye Care at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He’s the Chief Operating Officer at the Bond-Wroten Eye Clinics with 3 offices in Louisiana, supervises its Primary Care & Ocular Disease Residency program, has twice been elected President of the Optometry Association of Louisiana, and has served on the Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners, the SCO Board of Trustees, and numerous American Optometric Association committees. Dr. Wroten has lectured internationally, conducted clinical research, and received several professional awards during his career. He’s a devoted husband to his wife and favorite optometrist, Sarah Wroten, O.D., and they are the proud parents of Emily and Ben.

Timothy Earley, OD
Dr. Timothy Earley obtained his B.S. in Vision Sciences and his Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1998. He then joined the Medina Vision and Laser Centre, where he served as the vice president/secretary and the director of human Tim Earlyresources for 23 years. In December 2022, Medina Vision Centre became part of Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons. His practice is a full-service, multi-disciplinary practice serving patients of all ages. Dr. Tim has a special interest in age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, dry eye disease, the co-management of ophthalmic surgery, and the fitting of multifocal contact lenses. Reflecting his commitment to public health, Dr. Earley is the Medical Director of the Bright Eyedeas Vision Clinic; a clinic that provides no-cost eye examinations and eyeglasses for patients in need. He also participates in InfantSee, a public health program designed to ensure that vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness. Dr. Earley is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. He is a national and international speaker and consultant, and works closely with numerous industry partners. He has been published in Optometric Management, Advanced Ocular Care, Review of Optometry, and Modern Optometry. He is a COPE-approved continuing education lecturer and content creator. When not performing his professional responsibilities, Dr. Earley enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Andrea Earley, and his three children. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, golfing, gardening, and tending to his flock of chickens.

Jeffry Gerson, OD
Dr. Jeffry Gerson graduated from Indiana University school of Optometry in 1997, after which he went on to do a VA residency concentrating in low vision and ocular disease. He has been in several different practice settings, including a retina referral practice where he participated in several large clinical trials.

Currently, Dr Gerson is in private practice that is a collaboration Jeffry Gersonof both OD’s and MD’s. He sees primary care patients and has an emphasis on retinal care in his practice. He enjoys having 4th year optometry interns with him and the challenges that they present. He still participates in clinical trials and utilizes many different diagnostic modalities.

Dr. Gerson is a frequent lecturer in the US and abroad, and writes regularly for optometric publications. When not at work, he enjoys travelling, working out and spending time with his family.
