A. Paul Chous, MA, OD, FAAO
Dr. Paul Chous has a private practice specializing in diabetes eye care and education in Tacoma, WA, and is an Adjunct Professor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He completed his undergraduate education at Brown and UC Irvine, and then received his Masters and Doctorate of Optometry degrees from UC Berkeley. He is the author of Diabetic Eye Disease: Lessons From a Diabetic Eye Doctor, which was included in the “Top 12 Diabetes Books” by Diabetes Update magazine in 2004. He is editorial advisor to Review of Optometry and Optometry Times, AOA representative to the National Diabetes Education Program, Primary Investigator for the Diabetes Visual Function Supplement Study (DiVFuSS), and was named one of the 250 most influential optometrists in 2017. Dr. Chous has had type 1 diabetes since 1968.

Anthony DeWilde, OD, FAAO
Dr. Anthony DeWilde is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis, College of Optometry. In 2008, he completed a residency at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, where he trained in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation.
Dr. DeWilde is passionate about education and has taught in a variety of settings including educating residents at the VA, students at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, College of Optometry, and optometrists at state, national, and international meetings.

Chris Wroten, O.D.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, Chris Wroten, O.D., graduated from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) before completing a Residency in Hospital-based Primary Eye Care at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Wroten has served as Chief Operating Officer at the Bond-Wroten Eye Clinics, with 3 offices in southeast Louisiana, while supervising its Primary Care & Ocular Disease Residency and assisting with its Student Externship Programs, both of which he founded. He has received appointment as Adjunct Faculty at several schools & colleges of optometry, twice been elected President of the Optometry Association of Louisiana (OAL), Vice-Chaired SECO International’s Education Committee, and received two appointments to the Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners. He’s also served on numerous committees within the American Optometric Association, moderated the Presidents Council meetings, and served on the Board of Trustees for SCO, including two terms as Chair. Dr. Wroten has lectured internationally, participated in clinical research, and been the recipient of several professional awards throughout his career. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Sarah Wroten, OD, and is the proud father of two children, Emily and Ben.

Register by April 26, 2025 to avoid additional charges. The last day to cancel with a refund is April 4, 2025. There will be a $50.00 Administrative fee for all cancellations. Any cancellations after April 11, 2025 will not be refunded due to food costs that have already been submitted.
